ABOUT
ITS BACK! March 6th 2021
Quarantine happened.. Its still happening. But chasing goals and doing crazy things with friends on your bike (and online) is here to stay! Last June we hosted 100 athletes to a 24 hour challenge- and now we are back with a new Solitary Confinement event!
Inspired by the "backyard ultra" running events- - this event takes place in your garage, living room, or pain cave via online racing and accountability. With many events being cancelled around the world in 2020 the Ultra Distance community of cyclists and triathletes has lost the connection that comes with pursuing long distance challenges together. This year we just want to have a fun "full day" of joining together for some miles and smiles.

A bit more "goal focused" and a bit less "race" orientated this year.
Last year we held a challenging, structured event- but our event grew to be a bit too big for the restraints of the Zwift Platform.
This year we are going with a "by donation" entry fee and a single 24 hour ride event.
Athletes don't "have to" complete anything. Instead we just want to bring together a group of Endurance athletes who want to challenge themselves.to see how far they can go in 1 day.
If you feel riding 4 hours is enough of a challenge- just join us for 4! Or 8, 12, 15, or whatever fits for you.
During the day (and/or night) You can stop for snack breaks / bathroom breaks whenever you wish, just don't log out of your account.
We will start the event together a 7:00 am MST on Zwift.
EVENT DATE: March 6 2021
The course will be flat- just as it was in our 2020 challenge.
Athletes will add the race director as a "friend" on Zwift so that after the event is over we can go and see how far everyone got! This also means that if you have technical issues and you are logged out of Zwift.. you are still able to "ride with" the group even if you are kick'ed.
We'll record your total distance in a post-event results page, but we won't have prizes for this years challenge

Frequently Asked Questions
In an effort to help streamline common question we will post relevant question below:
1. What countries are able to enter this event?
ANYONE! If you have a smart trainer or power meter and a internet connection- you can join in on the fun!
2. Will there be a video feed?
Yes! We plan to have a youtube live feed. Anyone participating can login to Zoom and join in on the broadcast to keep in touch and motivate the other athletes
Entry Fee and CAF
As I am sure you are aware - we have some minor costs to cover when it comes to organizing a event like this. All we require for entry is a minimum $5 donation via the paypal link above .It's not much- but it does go a long way in making sure that expenses are covered. Any excess funds go to support the Event Director- as trying to make money as a pro triathlete has been pretty throughout the last year.
Donate - and we'll contact you with pre event info via email. If your paypal is linked to a different email than you would prefer to use- simply type your preferred email address in the "added info" section.
We also manages to raise over $5000 USD for the Challenged Athletes foundations in 2020. It would be great if you would consider sending this awesome organization some spare change to help them support their athletes as well!
Challenged Athletes Foundation
We're happy to work to support the amazing efforts of CAF
It is the mission of the Challenged Athletes Foundation to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. The Challenged Athletes Foundation believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life.

ABOUT THE EVENT DIRECTOR
Jordan Bryden is a lifetime triathlete from Calgary Alberta Canada. He currently races as a professional triathlete and is the 2019 Ultraman World Champion. Jordan also works as a a graphic designer and photographer
"As an endurance athlete, I have really hoped to use this time to explore my limits as an athlete. I was inspired to organize this event for a couple reasons. My dad did a 24 hour roller cycling event when I was a kid and it was a challenge I always wanted to take on myself. I imagine Ultra athletes everywhere are hoping to find new goals and successes during a period when traditional races are not taking place. I would really like to connect with the Ultra community again this year and have as much fun as we had last year!
